According to Harvard – Public Speaking is a greater fear than Death!
We fear ridicule more than we do dying! 😮
But, public speaking has been a total game-changer for me – for my self-growth, my mental wellbeing and my professional career.
Through learning to chuck my thoughts and ideas out there – with vulnerability, with authenticity, my confidence has soared, and I’ve bagged myself a toolkit for life’s roller-coaster – which has now become my ‘Find Your Voice – LIVE!’ event and upcoming ‘Find Your Voice!’ programme.
Unless you are showing the world your true self – how do you expect the world to engage with you on your terms?
Having had OCD, GAD and anxiety as a long-term companion, mastering speaking publicly has flipped the script. It’s more than just chatting to a crowd; it’s having a deep conversation with myself, recognising my value, and realising I’ve got unique stuff to share – whilst sowing the seeds for attendees to ask better questions of themselves – the ‘lived experience’ angle that has been the ‘secret sauce’ of my success.
In the work world, being able to speak out has flung doors wide open, helping me build invaluable connections. It’s given me a voice in places where it truly counts, letting me inspire and influence others. Every word and every pause has been a step towards not only becoming a better communicator but also uncovering parts of me I didn’t know existed. It’s been a wild ride of discovery and empowerment, and there’s still more road ahead.
So, is it time to ‘Find Your Voice’?
Well, I’ll leave you with this question ‘Are YOU truly being heard? In life, in business, at home, in your relationships?
Maybe, just maybe – it’s time for you to step up!
‘Til next month – Happy October!
